Privacy policy

How Walls by Pavle collects, uses and protects the personal information you provide through this website.
Who this covers
Walls by Pavle ("we", "us") is a decorative plastering business operating in Melbourne, Victoria. This policy applies to personal information collected through this website and through enquiries made by phone, email or Instagram.
Australian privacy law exempts most small businesses with an annual turnover under $3 million from the Privacy Act 1988. We have chosen to follow the Australian Privacy Principles regardless, because the exemption describes what we are permitted to do, not what we think is right.
What we collect
When you submit an enquiry we collect your name, email address, phone number, the suburb the project is in, whether you are a homeowner, designer, builder or commercial client, the finish and surface you are interested in, and whatever you write in the message field.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, payment details, identity documents or any sensitive information as that term is defined in the Privacy Act.
Our hosting provider records standard technical information — IP address, browser type, pages requested — in server logs, and records the IP address an enquiry was submitted from as part of its spam filtering. These are operational records, not a profile of you.
How we use it
Your enquiry is emailed to us so we can reply, quote the work, and carry it out if you go ahead. That is the only purpose. We do not use it for anything else.
We will not add you to a mailing list, send you marketing, or contact you about anything other than your enquiry unless you ask us to. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone, ever.
Who else sees it
Our website is hosted by Netlify, and enquiries submitted through the form are collected and stored by Netlify's form service before being emailed to us. Netlify processes this data on our behalf and stores it on servers outside Australia, including in the United States.
On a job we may need to share your name, address and scope with a supplier or another trade — a builder, a designer, a delivery driver. We share the minimum needed to do the work.
We will disclose information where the law requires it, and not otherwise.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become jobs are kept for two years, in case you come back to us, and then deleted.
Records relating to work we have actually carried out are kept for seven years. Tax law and the statutory warranty periods that apply to building work both require us to be able to produce them.
Cookies and tracking
We see analytics for this website: how many people visit, which pages they look at, and roughly where they arrived from. It reaches us in aggregate. We are not told who you are and we do not build a profile of you.
This website sets no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies of its own. Third-party content embedded in the site is addressed in the following section.
If we add a tool that sets cookies of its own, this policy will be updated before the change goes live, not after.
Third-party content
Our home page offers content that can be embedded from Instagram, a service operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. Where you choose to load it, your browser makes a request directly to Meta's servers.
In the course of that request Meta may collect your IP address, information about your browser and device, and the address of the page you are viewing, and may set or read cookies on your device. Where you are signed in to an Instagram or Facebook account in the same browser, Meta may associate that information with your account. We do not control this collection, do not receive the information collected, and cannot access it. Meta's handling of it is governed by its own privacy policy at privacy.instagram.com.
No request is made to Meta unless you ask for one. The home page shows a still image of each post, served from this website, with the embed loading only if you select it. If you do not select a post, your browser does not contact Meta at all and none of the collection described above occurs. A direct text link to each post is provided beneath it as an alternative.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email pavle@wallsbypavle.com.au or call 0410 391 357 and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and enquiry data is transmitted encrypted. Access to the enquiry inbox is limited to Pavle.
No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected people and the Information Commissioner as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
Let's talk about your wall.
Tell me the suburb and what the surface is, and I'll come back with what it can take and what it will cost.
